Removing Cellulite With Herbs

When fatty deposits accumulate beneath the skin and cause dimpling or lumps, this is called cellulite. Between the two sexes, it is women who mostly acquire such fatty deposits usually on their butts, tummy, hips, arms and thighs. This builds up over time especially when the connective tissues under the skin decline. When blood is not properly circulated in these areas, these fatty tissues get destroyed. The good news is aside from the expensive creams and surgical treatments for this condition, there are also herbs that are effective in removing the wrinkled look of the skin.

Herbal treatments vary and these include moisturizing lotions and creams, body wraps, essential oils and herbal supplements. When one uses a combination of these treatments regularly, the dimpling of the skin is reduced.

There are also herbs that can eliminate these fatty deposits through reduction of calories and fats taken in. These include goat's rue and gymnema that balance glucose and enhance sensitivity to insulin. These herbs along with green tea, Korean ginseng and coleus all help control the weight thus reducing fat in the body.

To remove cellulite from the body, it is important to have a healthy blood circulation. When there is a good flow of blood, the tissues found below the skin pushes fat cells to the blood stream thus they will not accumulate under the skin. This will then minimize the dimpling and orange peel appearance of the skin. The herbs that promote good blood circulation are ginger, gotu, gingko biloba, sweet violet, horse chestnut and cayenne. These herbs can be brewed into tea and their supplement forms can be purchased in health shops.

If the skin has enough collagen, its dimpling or wrinkled appearance would be avoided because collagen gives tenacity, durability, elasticity and strength. When the skin has enough collagen, fatty deposits under the skin would not help form a wrinkled look on the skin. It is important to have a good supply of collagen under the skin for it to be protected and maintain its youth. There are herbs that heighten the production of collagen. These include gotu kola and vitamin C filled herbs such as parsley, watercress, acerola, rosehips and elderberries.

There are also herbs that can help solve this condition by applying them on the skin and not taking them out. These include horsetail, calendula and witch hazel. Such herbs also improve the skin elasticity and tighten the skin. This would then minimize the buildup of fatty deposits. These herbs should be covered inside boiling water and once it has cooled down, it should be added to a hot bath or applied on the skin.
